A JOB!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I've been slogging through the last 51 months of school with a clear goal in mind: get a job! All those late nights. All those stupid care plans. All those papers.... 9 chapter tests..... pop quizzes.... CPR classes.... 5:00 a.m. mornings and 4:00 a.m. bedtimes.... today, it finally paid off! MWHAAAAHAAAAHAAAA!!!

I was offered a job! Starting January 19 at NMRH in the OR. WHOPPEE!! More money than I've ever made in my life. Enough to pay off my student loans. Enough to pay for Thing 1's tuition in CASH next year. Thing 2 got a full ride (Thing 1 did too, but turned it down for a Big 10 school) so we paid his $750 for books and tuition each year so far... Enough money that my kids may be turned down for some financial aid next year, but it'll all be worth it.

I'm fully aware of the people out there who have lost jobs, fortunes, or nest eggs recently. I don't mean to rub it in anyone's face. I'm just glad that at 43 years old, I finally will have a job I LOVE and be paid accordingly. I have a nephew that lost his job on Halloween. I know that at 28, it's not a good thing to be looking for a job when you'd rather be looking for an engagement ring... or a house... or just food on the table. I have struggled before - working 3 jobs as a single mom with 2 kids and making less than $25k for the 3 jobs put together... The end is near. I just can't get too comfortable... Please, God, make me worthy...

Really... that long?

Has it really been that long since I've blogged?? Oh. my. goodness! (I guess that just goes to prove that I actually *do* have a life!)

Let's see... in 17 minutes it'll officially be April 1st. So, what's it doing SNOWING outside?? And, what's that, Mr. Weatherman??? You say we're going to get 10"???

Of course, I have two papers due tomorrow, so what am I doing blogging tonight? [Why, praying it snows like crazy just like my 9-year-old!] I can write a paper like nobody's business, but I just can't seem to buckle down and get the job started. Of course, with my dh away (again) in Detroit (lovely city [coughcough]) I'm not really motivated after dealing with thing 2 and the lil' ones!

SO, not only is it snowing, but we still have at least 2-3 feet on the ground. I came back from downstate today and they had great big patches of green with snow only around the foundations of houses and such. [Such? I meant that *sucks*!]

Pinning is in four weeks and four days. Grad is in four weeks and five days, but who's counting? It sometimes seems like it'll never get here and sometimes feels like they're going to rip the rug out from under us at the last minute....... much like they've done to other *mature* students that they don't feel should be in nursing school. I have a job that starts the week after graduation - working with one of two people from school I would be perfectly happy never to lay eyes upon again in my life. hmmm, now *that* sucks.

Boy, two "sucks" in one posting. I am crabby. I guess I should work on my paper instead of blogging.
